Discourse Communities

The discourse communities I chose to write about are all communities I am relatively new to. They all have been recently introduced to my life since I started college in August of this year. Discourses are easiest to distinguish in my mind by their goal. One thing that makes a discourse community its own separate community is the fact that the members all share a certain goal, or they all are in that discourse for the same purpose. Another big distinguishing factor between discourses is what problems they share. Examples include waking up early, or having a lot of homework, or always being tired. They are problems everyone in that community shares and it brings them closer and gives them more in common. All of the discourses I talked about are related in the fact that they all branch off of me attending college. A greater discourse that could fit all of them in general being a college student.
